Benson is a growing community due to our climate, city planning and encouragement of businesses to settle here. The Kartchner Caverns State Park is a factor in Benson's current growth trend.

Benson Public Library is a city library funded by city taxes, which will increase as business and residential areas grow in the next few years. A community survey done by the library in 1986 showed a strong population of educated adults (beyond high school) indicating the need for a strong public library with statewide and national access to additional library materials through interlibrary loan services.

Benson Public Library had a circulation of 88,856 during 2007-08 and is substantially due to new businesses and increased population, as well as increasing awareness of library activities.
